FOODSAFE Level 1 by Distance Education (Offline Learning Package)

Description

This flexible, paper-based FOODSAFE Level 1 course is designed for individuals who prefer to study at their own pace without needing internet access. Ideal for those in remote areas, with limited computer access, or who prefer workbook-style learning, this course includes mailed learning materials and a paper-based exam.Learners follow a simple 7-step process to become certified:

  1. Register by submitting a form (provided after purchase).
  2. Study from the printed workbook at your own pace — you have up to 6 months.

  3. Submit an Invigilator Form — your exam must be supervised by an invigilator.

  4. Write the Exam — your invigilator will oversee the 50-question, closed-book test.

  5. Mail the Exam back to go2HR.

  6. go2HR Marks Your Exam — you’ll be notified of your results (70% is required to pass).

  7. Receive Your Certificate — if successful, your local Health Authority will mail your FOODSAFE certificate within 4–6 weeks.


FOODSAFE Level 1 certificates issued in B.C. are valid for 5 years

This course offers exams in 10 different languages and is an accessible option for diverse learners and workplaces across B.C.

REGISTRATION CANCELLATION
If you no longer wish to continue with the FOODSAFE Level 1 Distance Education program, you may request a refund by contacting us at foodsafe@go2hr.ca. Refunds are processed as follows:
  • Course materials not sent – eligible for a full refund.
  • Course materials sent – eligible for a 50% refund.
  • Requests made 2 weeks or more after the registration  – not eligible for a refund.

RETURNED ITEMS (Learning Materials, Exams, or Certificates)
If your package is returned to go2HR due to an incorrect or incomplete address or because it was not picked up by the recipient, we can re-ship it once a verified alternate address is provided. A $25 + tax administrative fee applies for each re-shipment.

Most Asked Question: Who can be my invigilator?
An invigilator is simply someone who supervises your exam. They must be at least 19 years old, not related to you, and not living in the same household. This could be a friend, coworker, neighbour, or community member — anyone who meets the criteria is eligible!
