This course equips participants with the tools to develop and deliver effective health and safety training programs tailored to different workplace roles. Learners will explore how to create a health and safety training policy, establish clear training requirements for workers, supervisors, managers, contractors, and visitors, and understand the importance of orientation for new and young workers. The course also covers record-keeping practices, the timing and delivery of orientation, and how to conduct meaningful on-the-job training. Practical examples and guidance help ensure training efforts are targeted, compliant, and impactful.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of this element, learners will be able to:
- Develop effective health and safety training programs and policies, including record-keeping practices
- Identify training requirements and topics for workers, supervisors, managers, contractors, and visitors
- Describe orientation requirements and timing for new, young, and long-term workers, contractors, and visitors
- Conduct on-the-job training and determine appropriate content based on role and risk
TARGET AUDIENCE:
- HR personnel and training coordinators
- Supervisors and managers responsible for onboarding and continuous training
- Certificate of Recognition (COR) Program champions and internal auditors
