Description
Through interactive exercises and industry examples, this course introduces the key roles and responsibilities of employers, supervisors, and workers in creating a safe workplace. Participants will learn how to develop effective health and safety policies, explore strategies for building management and leadership commitment, and understand the foundational concept of due diligence.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
By the end of this element, learners will be able to:
- Describe the health and safety roles and responsibilities of different people in the workplace
- Explain how to develop a health and safety policy and why it is important
- Understand how to generate awareness, involvement and commitment from management and leadership
- Describe how the concept of due diligence relates to health and safety in the workplace context
TARGET AUDIENCE:
- Individuals responsible for leading OHS and/or the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program
- Members of the joint health and safety committee (JHSC)
- COR Internal Auditors or others who need continuing professional development hours (i.e. CRSP, CPHR, and CHSC)
SPECIAL NOTE: Upon completion, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion for this singular module.
